Mrs. Estelle "Granny" Pate, 94, of the Rocky Mount Community of Meriwether County, passed away Friday, October 4, 2019, at Newnan Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Pate was born March 5, 1925, in Gurley, Alabama, daughter of the late William and Sarah Brandon Kimbrough. A former resident of Atlanta, she had made her home in Rocky Mount since 1974 and was a member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church. She retired as an inspector for International Paper Company in Atlanta.
Survivors include her son, William (Bill) Pate and his wife Carol of Brighton, Michigan; son in-law, Glenn Richardson of Rocky Mount; brother, Clyde Kimbrough and his wife Rena Mae of Hazel Green, Alabama; grandchildren, Wayne Parris, Jerri Penson, Kim Phillips and her husband Ricky, and Jennifer Pedri; great-grandchildren, Blair Parris, Ally Penson, Samantha Penson, Willow Penson, Victoria Pedri, Lexi Pedri; and great-grandson, Theodore Harrison Pedri-Foster. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Pate, and her daughter, Nadine Richardson.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 10, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Wayne Settle and the Reverend Robert McCurry will officiate and interment will be in the Luthersville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Wednesday night.
