Mr. Paul Royster, age 79, of LaGrange, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2026, at his home.
Mr. Royster was born September 10, 1946, in Chambers County, Alabama, son of the late Lester Wilborn Royster and Jetta Dorrough Royster. A U.S. Army veteran with service in the Vietnam War, he lived in Troup County most of his life, retired from Interface in LaGrange, was a member of Cedarcrest Community Church, and was a former member of Hogansville Church of God, where he had been active in the choir. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, was a talented artist, enjoyed drawing and painting with oils, and loved playing guitar.
Survivors include his daughter, Johna Wingate (Jeffery); son, Jeremy Royster (Marcia); grandchildren, Kimi Hollis (Josh), Cecelia Jones (Alyssa), Matthew Wingate (Rebekah), Katie Wingate, Jackson Wingate, Jordan Timothy Wingate, Michael Wingate, John Paul Royster (Ciera), Jackilyn Sewell (Lyndrix); great-grandchildren, Grayson Gilliam, ZycoreyN Hart, Jesse Royster, Khalani Sewell, Nova Sewell; and his sister, Sue Pritchett of West Point. Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Gayla Parmer Royster; and his brothers, William Julian Royster, Cecil Royster, Carroll Royster, and Raymond Royster.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 17, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Randall Hodge and Pastor Mark Davenport will officiate and interment will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens in LaGrange.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, prior to the service.
