Eric Brian Thomas

MR. ERIC BRIAN THOMAS Mr. Eric Brian Thomas, 56, of Hogansville, passed away, Thursday, December 4, 2014, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. Born June 19, 1958, in Dayton Ohio, Mr. Thomas served in the U.S. Army with the Military Police and then served as a police officer in Troy and Trotwood, Ohio. He retired to Hogansville after being employed as an iron worker for a number of years. Survivors include his wife, Catherine Buggay Thomas, of Hogansville; his son, Justin Thomas; step-daughters, Lauren Rakestraw and Jennifer Borders; his mother, Nella Marlene Dozier Thomas; sister, Marla Thomas Fulton; brothers, Darrell Thomas, Kenny Thomas, Terry Thomas; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Leon Thomas. The family will host a memorial service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 13, at Grace Covenant Worship Center in Hogansville, with Pastor Alex Montgomery officiating. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville handled arrangements.
