Mrs. Emily Rowe Rosser, 98, of Moreland, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at Monarch House in Newnan.
Born October 10, 1922, in Meriwether County, Mrs. Rosser was a daughter of the late James Bartow Rowe and Arkola Norris Rowe. She retired from Playtex International in Newnan after more than 40 years of service, and then became an avid world traveler during her retirement years, having visited 5 of the 7 continents and 49 of the 50 states. Mrs. Rosser dearly loved her church, Moreland United Methodist Church, and was a member of the church's quilting group, and had been an active member of the Grantville Senior Center, where she also enjoyed quilting.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Rosser, Jr. and her son, John Thomas Rosser III, and is survived by her sons and daughters in-law, Tony and Patricia Rosser of Moreland, Ken and Gail Rosser of Newnan, Michael and Susan Rosser of Carrollton; daughter in-law, Maria Rosser of Davie, FL; grandchildren, Tammy Dennison, Lisa McGurl, Leah Crawford, Tammy Nicole Rosser, J. J. Rosser, Christopher Rosser, Kelly Rosser; 17 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 7, at Moreland United Methodist Church. The Reverend Winston Skinner will officiate and interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will greet friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Moreland United Methodist Church are appreciated.
The family suggests that masks be worn and social distancing observed at the service.
