MRS. ELSIE HOUSTON Mrs. Elsie Mae Houston, 84, of Hogansville, died Monday, June 2, 2008, at her home. The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 4, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Mike Freeman will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Houston was born May 13, 1924, in Heard county, daughter of the late Eck and Ida McWhorter Adams. A resident of Hogansville for many years, she was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Hogansville. A beloved mother, she is survived by her sons and daughters in-law, Major and Gayle Ashley of Remlap, AL and Kenneth and Melba Ashley of Killeen, TX; her daughters, Shirley Cline of Hogansville and Marie Cotney of LaGrange; a sister in-law, Lorene Adams of Centralhatchee; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy O. Houston and by her daughter, Deretha Foxworthy. The Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
