Ellen Whitmore Strickland

Mrs. Ellen Whitmore Strickland, 73, of Luthersville, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at her home.

Mrs. Strickland was born, October 30, 1951, in Hogansville, daughter of the late Ezra and Odella Stitcher Whitmore. She was a 1969 graduate of Hogansville High School, attended West Georgia Technical College, and was employed as a radiological technician for over 35 years at Newnan Hospital and Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

Survivors include her daughters, Karen Carver of Moultrie and Lisa Strickland of Newnan; grandchildren, James Evan "Jay" Strickland of Savannah and James Grayson Dell of Moultrie; and sisters and brothers in-law, Janice and Louis Hughes of Smarr, Joyce and Donny Osbourne of Mayo, FL. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Strickland, and her sister, Patricia Miles.

The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, June 8, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Terry Rainwater and the Reverend Aaron McCollough will officiate and interment will be in the Luthersville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., Sunday, prior to the service.
