Mrs. Elizabeth Pearson Martin, 87, of Newnan, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017, at her home.
Mrs. Martin was born February 9, 1929, in Meriwether County, daughter of the late William Emory Pearson and Dalah Woodruff Pearson. A resident of Newnan for the past thirty years, she was a former resident of LaGrange and Luthersville and was a member of Providence Primitive Baptist Church in Luthersville. She was a graduate of LaGrange College and retired as nursing supervisor from Clark-Holder Clinic in LaGrange.
Survivors include her son, James A. Martin, Jr. and his wife Annell of Hogansville; daughter, Delores Ann Arrington of Newnan; son in-law, Thom Moncus of Newnan; sisters and brothers in-law, Doris and Robert Dodds of Luthersville, Marian and J. C. Lovett of Fayetteville; brother, W.E. "Bill" Pearson, Jr. and his wife Sue of McDonough; grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann James, Robert Lee Arrington, Tal Moncus III, Charlotte Smith, Clint Martin, Orry Martin; and 13 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Albert Martin; and her daughter, Amy Martin Moncus.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Monday, January 23, at the graveside in the Luthersville Cemetery, with Elder Chris Hill officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Monday.
