MRS. ELIZABETH ASKEW Mrs. Elizabeth Ingram Askew, of Hogansville, died Friday, August 15, 2014, at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange. Mrs. Askew was born August 9, 1922, in Newnan, daughter of the late John Frederick Ingram, Sr. and Emily Lucille Owens Ingram. A resident of Hogansville since 1947, she was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hogansville, where she had served as treasurer and as a member of the Administrative Board and the UMW. She served as City Clerk of Hogansville for fifteen years and also served as an administrative assistant to Representative Crawford Ware for a number of years. Mrs. Askew enjoyed gardening and propagating plants and loved to cook and entertain. Survivors include her son, Emmett Askew of Hogansville; grandchildren, Erin Askew Hill and her husband, Kevin of Douglas, Cameron Askew and his wife, Ashley of Birmingham, AL; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. (Jim) Askew, and her daughter, Emily Ann Askew. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 18, at the First United Methodist Church of Hogansville. The Reverend Kenneth Kulp and the Reverend John Alexander will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m., Monday. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements. Visitation: from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m., Monday, August 18th, at Claude A.
