Eleanor Heard Washington

MRS. ELEANOR HEARD WASHINGTON

Mrs. Eleanor Heard Washington, 88 of LaGrange, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023, at her home.

Born July 13, 1934 in Hogansville, Mrs. Washington was the daughter of the late Charlie Adamson Heard and Julia Americus Megginson Heard. She worked in banking most of her life, having retired from NationsBank as a Loan Officer, and lived in the area for 45 years. Mrs. Washington was a member of Callaway Baptist Church and loved going to the Active Life Center.

Survivors include her daughter and son in-law, Deborah and Chuck Phillips of West Point; grandchildren, Shelley and Mike Neal of West Point, Gary and Brittany Phillips of Leeds, AL, and Joey Phillips of Atlanta; great-grandchildren, Brayden Neal, Clayton Neal, Kaylynn Neal, Kevin Phillips, and Mattie Neal; and a brother, Everett Heard of Powder Springs. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Washington was preceded in death by her husband, Gary William Washington.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., June 27, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home. The Reverend Brad Thompson will officiate and interment will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Monday evening.
