Elaine Stearnes Duck

Mrs. Elaine Stearnes Duck, 91, of Manchester and formerly of Tallassee, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at Kindred Hospice at Franciscan Woods in Columbus. Mrs. Duck was born December 20, 1925, in Seman, Alabama, daughter of the late Charles and Nancy Carwile Stearnes. A resident of Tallassee most of her life, she was a retired registered nurse and was a member of Mount Olive Congregational Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Edward Duck and is survived by her daughter, Janice Robinson of Manchester; granddaughter, Lauren Elliott of Shiloh; and great-grandchildren, Alayna Elliott and Jonathan Elliott, also both of Shiloh. The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. (CDT), Saturday, August 26, at the graveside in Rose Hill Cemetery in Tallassee, AL, with the Reverend Donald Traylor officiating. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
