Edward Joseph Waryas

Mr. Edward Joseph "Ed" Waryas, 82, of Newnan, passed away, Friday, July 3, 2020, at Southwest Christian Care in Union City. Mr. Waryas was born September 18, 1937, in Providence, RI, son of the late Walter and Josephine Bischendeski Waryas. A veteran of service in the U.S. Army, he earned a bachelors degree in accounting from Byrant University in Rhode Island and then lived in North Miami Beach, FL for 27 years, where he served as chief financial officer for Miami Mental Health Center. He was a resident of Hogansville for sixteen years before making his home in Newnan in 2017, was a member and past Commander of American Legion Post 152 in Hogansville, and was a member of St. George Catholic Church in Newnan. Survivors include his son and daughter in-law, Joe and Christie Waryas and their daughter, Phoebe, of Newnan; step-granddaughters, Kayla Dewberry and Jamie Dean; and sisters, Pat Leddy and Judy Swain, both of Providence, RI. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Doler "Frankie" Waryas. The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 8, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Pastor Arthur Mace will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 until 4 Wednesday afternoon. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
