MR. EDWARD C. BRYANT
Mr. Edward C. Bryant, 87, of Harrisburg, NC and formerly of Newnan, died Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, NC.
The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, July 14, at the First Baptist Church of Hogansville. Dr. Doug Anderson will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville, with military honors.
The family will receive friends at the church from 3 until 4 Sunday afternoon.
Mr. Bryant was born October 4, 1925, in Coweta County, son of the late John Henry Bryant and Gladys Carroll Bryant. A veteran of World War II, he served in the Naval Armed Guard. He was a retired pipe insulator and member of Local 48, International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Asbestos Workers. He lived in Newnan, where he attended Bible Baptist Church, before making his home in Harrisburg in 2002.
Survivors include his daughters and sons in-law, Susan and Phillip Coan of Concord, NC, Janet and Marvin Pearce of Tallahasse, FL; sister, Laraue Henderson of Lanett, AL; great aunt, Pauline Marshall of Claremont, FL; five grandchildren and their spouses; and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Ogle Bryant.
Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
