Mrs. Edna Ryder Rawlins, 81, of Hogansville, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2020, at her home.
Mrs. Rawlins was born July 31, 1938, in Ossining, New York, daughter of the late George and Leila Hall Ryder. She received her Bachelors degree from Florida Southern College, earned her Master of Education and Education Specialist degrees from the University of West Georgia, and retired as counselor at Callaway High School after serving 27 years in public education. She was a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Hogansville, where she had been a member of the choir, the Presbyterian Women, and the Sewing Circle. Mrs. Rawlins and her late husband, Max Rawlins, enjoyed traveling and had visited the 48 contiguous states, Alaska, and all Canadian provinces.
Survivors include her children, Patrick Daughtrey and his wife Connie of Jacksonville, FL, Jody Daughtrey and her wife Julie Brown of Lexington, Oklahoma, Renee Rawlins of Hogansville, Karen Ann Rawlins of Tifton; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 25, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with the Reverend Harrison Cain officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., Tuesday.
