Edna Tarwater Fields

Mrs. Edna Tarwater. Fields, 93, of Greenville, passed away Friday, May 31, 2019, at her home. Mrs. Fields was born May 19, 1926, in Childersburg, Alabama, daughter of the late Will and Lula Tarwater. A former resident of LaGrange and the Atlanta area, she had lived in Meriwether County for forty years and was a member of Stovall Baptist Church. She enjoyed visiting the beach, gardening, and caring for her chickens. Survivors include her daughters, Brenda Gay of Greenville, Judy Savage and James Sims of Jonesboro; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton J. Fields; son in-law, Wayne Gay; and grandson, Bo Gay. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 3, at Stovall Baptist Church. The Reverend Jerry Johnson and the Reverend Terry Prestridge will officiate and interment will be in the Pine Mountain Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 8 Sunday evening. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
