Mr. Edgar C. "Ed" Mashburn, Sr., 81, of Hogansville, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Hospice LaGrange.
Mr. Mashburn was born October 8, 1943, in Atlanta, son of the late John Edgar Mashburn and Mary Elizabeth Kelly Mashburn Duffey. A veteran of service in the U.S. Air Force, he was employed at Atlanta Army Depot and General Tire Company before working as a supervisor and retiring from Owens-Corning. He was a member of Old Pathway Baptist Church in LaGrange, was a member of Senoia Masonic Lodge #82, and was a Shriner and member of Yaarab Shrine Temple in Atlanta. He had enjoyed bass fishing and loved to play golf.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Mashburn; his daughter and son in-law, Tracy and Ty Stribling, their children, Clay, Beau and Alysse, and Beau's daughter Aurora; son and daughter in-law, Gene and Suzanne Campbell and their children Eli, Corey, and Chris and Eli's son Weston; son and daughter in-law, Ed and Debbie Mashburn and their children, Keri, Kristofer and Brianna and Keri's son Ryder. Ed is also survived by his sisters, Gayle Johnson and her husband Tony and their daughters, Alyssa and Amanda and Alyssa's son, Conner; and his sister Cindy Northrup and her daughter, Rachel and Rachel's daughter, Torri..
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 14, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Pastor Sam Mitchell will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery with military honors.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to West Georgia Hospice or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
