MR. EARL TALMADGE SMITH Mr. Earl Talmadge Smith, 92, of Moreland, died Friday, October 23, 2009, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 25, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Bobby Boswell and the Reverend Chuck Byrom will officiate and interment will be in Southview Cemetery in Moreland. Born September 7, 1917, in Meriwether County, Mr. Smith was the son of the late Henry Floyd Smith and the late Grace Brooks Smith. He was an Army veteran of World War Two, lived in East Point many years, and retired as a production supervisor from St. Regis Paper Company after 33 years of service. He returned to make his home in Moreland in 1979 and was a member and deacon of Bethel Baptist Church in the Rocky Mount Community. Survivors include his wife, Christine McCoy Smith of Moreland; daughter and son in-law, Judy and Jerry Williams of Stockbridge; son and daughter in-law, Kenneth and Kandee Smith of Fayetteville; sisters, Virginia Reitenour and Marjorie Williams, both of Moreland; grandchildren, Jimmy Brown, Cindy Tarpley, Kevin Lannen, Spec. Kristopher Smith, and Kyle Smith; and great-grandchildren, Emily Brown, Joshua Tarpley, Jordan Tarpley, Nathan Brown, and Abby Brown. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation: from 6 until 8 Saturday night, October 24th, at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home Services: 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 25th, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home Interment: Southview Cemetery in Moreland
