MR. E. T. (GENE) GUNNIN
Mr. E. T. (Gene) Gunnin, 80, of Greenville, died Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at his home.
Mr. Gunnin was born August 7, 1933, in Woodstock, son of the late John Franklin Gunnin and Ruby Grace Casteel Gunnin. An Army veteran of the Korean War, he lived in Meriwether County for 42 years and retired from the City of Atlanta at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed gardening and square-dancing and was known to be able to fix anything.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Betty Gunnin of Greenville; sons and daughters in-law, Robin and Celia Gunnin of Canton, Randy and Vickie Gunnin of Luthersville, Ryan (George) and Vicki Gunnin of Tyrone; brothers, Earl Gunnin and Sammy Gunnin, both of Woodstock; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 19, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with Minister Ken May officiating. Inurnment will be at Georgia National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 until 11 Saturday morning.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity of the donor.
