Douglas Arnold Yearta

Mr. Douglas A. Yearta, 78, of Piedmont, SC and formerly of Hogansville, passed away, Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, SC of injuries received in a traffic accident. Mr. Yearta was born November 5, 1937, in LaGrange, son of the late Jesse and Vinnie Welborn Yearta. He was a retired dairy farmer and had lived in Piedmont since 1999. He had attended Bible Baptist Church in Hogansville Survivors include his daughters, Elizabeth Tucker, Judy Yearta and her friend, Ty Howe, all of Piedmont; sons, Doug Yearta and his wife, Chris of Decatur, IL, Wayne Yearta and his friend, Suzan Brett of Pelzer, SC; sister, Betty Jo Cape of Piedmont; sixteen grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emily Spradlin Yearta; son, David Yearta; and granddaughter, Pamela Sue Yearta. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 16, at the graveside in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville, with the Reverend Randall Hodge officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Saturday. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
