Douglas Melvin Hand

MR. DOUGLAS M. HAND Mr. Douglas Melvin Hand, 72, of Woodbury, died Friday, November 15, 2013, at his home. Mr. Hand was born April 7, 1941, in Moreland, son of the late Joseph Benjamin Hand and Curtis Drake Hand. A veteran of service in the U. S. Navy, he lived in Meriwether county most of his life, was a member of Antioch Baptist Church at Woodbury, and was a retired building contractor. Survivors include a very dear and special friend, Karla Seymour of Woodbury; his sons, Adam Argroves Hand and his wife, Crystal of Hogansville, Douglas Allen Hand and his wife, Tina of Greenville; brother, Lee Hand of Moreland; sister, Betty Groves of Woodstock; and grandchildren, Aidan Hand, Ava Hand, and Theney Hand. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
