Dorothy Duncan Pickard

MRS. DOROTHY PICKARD Mrs. Dorothy Duncan Pickard, 83, of Valley, died Tuesday, September 2, 2013 at Saint Francis Hospital in Columbus. Born January 1, 1930 in Birmingham, Mrs. Pickard was the daughter of the late Oren and Lily Duncan. She was a member of Fairfax United Methodist Church and retired from Shelton Community College. Survivors include her son and daughters in-law, Bobby and Kathy Pickard of Cusseta and Kathy Pickard of Lanett; four grandchildren, Jim Pickard, Lauren Pickard, Kelli Pickard, and Kerry and his wife Ashley Pickard; and two great-grandchildren, Eli and Whitt Pickard. Mrs. Pickard was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Samuel Pickard, Sr., son, Rev. David "Coach Pick" Pickard, and her brother and Sister in-law, Gerald and Betty Ann Duncan. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. CST, Wednesday, September 4, at the graveside in the Montgomery Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Ian Conerly officiating.
