Dorothy Mae Murphy

MRS. DOROTHY MAE MURPHY Mrs. Dorothy Mae Murphy, 91, of Greenville, died Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at Warm Springs Nursing Home. Mrs. Murphy was born April 19, 1921, in Coweta County, daughter of the late Drew Wayman Smith and Beulah Mae Short Smith. A resident of Greenville for the past seven years, she lived in Coweta County most her life, was raised in the Baptist Church, and later became a member of Jehovah's Witnesses. She is survived by her daughters, Betty Faye Phillips of Pine Mountain and Ernestine Stephens of Greenville; son, Jimmy Johnson of Grantville; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Willie Floyd Johnson and Emory Murphy. The family has honored Mrs. Murphy's request that no funeral service be held. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
