MRS. DOROTHY HOLLOWAY Mrs. Dorothy Thompson Holloway, 88, of Hogansville, passed away Saturday, December 25, 2021, at Twin Fountains Home in LaGrange. Mrs. Holloway was born September 17, 1933, in Heard County, daughter of the late Wiley Press Thompson and Jennie Lou Williams Thompson. She was a member of Lighthouse Tabernacle of Jesus Christ for 40 years and retired from Uniroyal, Inc. She enjoyed quilting, embroidering, coloring, and cooking, and was especially known for making the best pear preserves, homemade biscuits, and sweet tea. Survivors include her son and daughter in-law, Eddie and Anne Gentry of Vernon, CT.; daughters, Lynn and Mike Hamlin of Hogansville, Peggie and Jeffrey Witt of Little Falls, MN; grandchildren, Heather Osorio, Brian Gentry, Renea Boyd, Tabitha Murphy, Cory Hamlin, Jonathan Witt, Leah Ley, Ian Witt; and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur John Gentry, and her son, Terry Joe Gentry. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 31, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home. The Reverend David Simmons will officiate and interment will be in Veal Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Thursday evening.
