Dorothy Holley Harrington

MRS. DOROTHY HARRINGTON Mrs. Dorothy Holley Harrington, 88, of Hogansville, died Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at Florence Hand Home. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, February 4, at the graveside at Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Reverend Jody Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends at Springhill Baptist Church from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., Saturday. Mrs. Harrington was born March 13, 1923, in Columbus, daughter of the late Roy and Liza Ann Cumbae Holley. She assisted her late husband, Oliver Harrington, in the operation of Harrington Grocery in the Louise Community, and in later years, she served as a nursing assistant at Royal Elaine Nursing Home. A resident of Troup County most of her life, she was a member of Springhill Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter and son in-law, Sara and Bill Parrish; son and daughter in-law, James and Cynthia Harrington, all of Hogansville; sister, Bobbie Bradshaw of Smyrna; brothers, Drew Holley of Woodstock, Jimmy Holley of Gretna, LA, and Donald Holley of Thomaston; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
