Mrs. Dorothy E. Gaddy, 84, of Newnan, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2022, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.
Mrs. Gaddy was born August 29, 1937, in Pike County, daughter of the late Hoyt Lamar Winkles and Emma Elizabeth Tidwell Winkles. A resident of Coweta County most of her life, she had worked in textiles and in child care but she loved being a homemaker and taking care of her family. She was a very Christian lady, was Pentecostal by faith, and enjoyed walking.
Survivors include her daughters, Mary Turner of Sargent, Ann Gaddy of Newnan; son and daughter in-law, Donald and Page Gaddy of Villa Rica; sister, Julia Ann Winkles of Tennessee; seventeen grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Gaddy, and by her daughter, Wanda Faye Crider.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 5, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Cliff Hendrix and the Reverend James Calhoun will officiate and interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.
