MRS. DORIS E. PLANT Mrs. Doris E. Plant, of Grantville, passed away Thursday, October 23, 2014, at Newnan Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born February 2, 1925, in Spring Garden, Alabama, Mrs. Plant was the daughter of the late Charlie and Dovie Gowen Pettite and was raised by her step-mother, Mary Pettite. She had lived in Coweta County since 1943, was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, was active in the Grantville Senior Center, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grantville for more than 70 years. Through the years, Mrs. Plant was employed in Grantville at Banks Brothers, West Point Pepperell Manufacturing, and Rainbow Plastics and retired at age 76. Survivors include her daughters and sons in-law, Ann and Donald Olmstead of Grantville, Linda and Bill Brown of Lebanon, TN; grandchildren, Susan Dohanich of Newnan, Kevin Miller and his wife, Lesli of Lebanon, Betsy Hicks and her husband, Tim of Nolensville, TN; great-grandchildren, Jessika Allen and her husband, Nick of Newnan, Rebekah Dohanich of Statesboro, Tristin Hicks and Peyton Hicks of Nolensville, Kennedy Miller of Lebanon; and a sister, Ruby Plant of Christian City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Plant. The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 26, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Pastor Jimmy Evans will officiate and interment will be in the Grantville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 until 3 Sunday afternoon. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation: from 1 until 3 Sunday afternoon, October 26th, at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home Services: 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 26th, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home Interment: Grantville Cemetery
