MR. DONALD E. ROBINSON Mr. Donald E. Robinson, 78, of LaGrange, died Friday, March 6, 2009, at West Georgia Medical Center. The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 9, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home. Minister Frank Lyons and the Reverend Jim Sanders will officiate and interment will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange. Born July 8, 1930, in Randolph county, Alabama, Mr. Robinson was the son of the late Fred and Nannie Rollins Robinson. He lived in Atlanta for a number of years before making his home in LaGrange in 1988, and retired from the Lakewood Division of General Motors after 30 years of service. He was an Army veteran and was a member of Northside Church of Christ in LaGrange. Survivors include his wife, Myrtis Robinson of LaGrange; daughter, Donna Kennedy of Macon; step-son and step-daughter in-law, Kenneth and Cindy Johnson of Jefferson; sister and brother in-law, Frances and Earl Freeman of Charlotte, NC; brother and sister in-law, Neal and Nell Robinson of Acworth; granddaughters, Priscilla Kennedy of Warner Robins and Vanessa and Chris Kent of Lizella; great-grandchildren, Benjamin Kent and Lawson Kent of Lizella; step-grandchildren, Darsie Elaine Johnson, Megan Johnson, Kristopher Johnson, of Jefferson; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Laurine Butler Robinson. The Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
