MR. DONALD ROBERTS Mr. Donald Ward Roberts, 76, of Greenville, died Monday, November 9, 2009, at Hospice LaGrange. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 11, at Greenville Baptist Church. The Reverend Jonathan Porter will officiate and interment will be in the Greenville Cemetery. Mr. Roberts was born March 8, 1933, in Greenville, the son of the late James Aubrey Roberts and the late Opal Ward Roberts. He attended Greenville High School and Gordon Military College, and was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Post 186 for 54 years and was a member of the Greenville Lions Club, receiving the Melvin Jones Fellow Award for dedicated humanitarian services from Lions Club International Foundation on August 11, 2009. A member of the Meriwether Cattlemen's Association, Mr. Roberts owned his own business, Roberts Garage and Towing Service/Greenville Auto Parts for 55 years. He retired in 1997 due to health problems. Survivors include his wife, Susie Ann Keith Roberts; daughter, Cindy R. Ledford; son in-law, of 34 years, Terry Ledford; granddaughters, Ashley L. Fuller and her husband, Ryan, and Kelly Ann Ledford; and a great-grandson, Cooper Ryan Fuller, all of Greenville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Greenville Baptist Church, P.O. Box 458, Greenville, GA 30222. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements. Visitation: from 5 until 7 Tuesday evening, November 10th, at Claude A.
