Dianne Tucker Prophett

Mrs. Dianne Tucker Prophett, 74, of Hogansville, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Hospice LaGrange.

Mrs. Prophett was born August 12, 1949, in Franklin, daughter of the late William and Cleo Shirey Tucker. A lifelong resident of Hogansville, she retired after 33 years of service in the Hogansville and Troup County School Systems, having served as lead secretary at Hogansville High School and Callaway High School. She enjoyed working in her yard and caring for her flowers, was an avid walker and visited the gym at every chance she had, and was a loving and doting grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her daughters, Lisa and Michael Kelly of Hogansville, Leslie English-Whatley and Hank Hinkle of Valley, AL; sister, Bonita Hannah of Cave Spring; grandchildren, Kirstyn English, Makayla Gaddy Davis, Kammile Gaddy, Ethan Kelly, Grady Whatley, Jake Whatley, Owen Kelly, Matthew Calhoun; great-grandchildren, Shailee, Bryson, Ashton; a number of nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Hanna Hannah; and her lifelong friend, Sharon Yarbrough Melton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Mike Tucker, niece, Lynn Tucker Coleman, and cousin, Joy Shirey.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 20.

A private graveside service will be conducted in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville, with the Reverend Terry English officiating.
