Dennis Johnson

Mr. Dennis Johnson, age 77, of Hogansville, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2026, at his home.

Mr. Johnson was born July 6, 1948, in Carrollton, son of the late William Bennett Johnson and Frances Gray Johnson. A lifelong resident of Hogansville, he was a 1966 graduate of Hogansville High School, spent most of his life in auto sales, and was a member of Highland Baptist Church. He was an avid golfer and was a talented musician, playing guitar, piano, and singing in church and at area nursing homes.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Johnson of Hogansville; sons, Matt Johnson of LaGrange, Bill Johnson (Kristy) of Hogansville; grandchildren, Kalea Adams (Robbie), Dylan Johnson (Ansley), Blake Johnson, Abby Johnson; great-grandchildren, Oaklyn Johnson, Lowen Johnson; and sister, Rita Hewitt (Bennie) of Gainesville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jeff Johnson, and his sister, Rachel Talley.

The funeral service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m., Friday, June 12, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Terry Rainwater will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 11.
