Deborah Barber Denney

Mrs. Deborah Barber Denney, 60, of Grantville, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at her home. Mrs.. Denney was born September 8, 1956, in LaGrange, and lived in Coweta County most of her life. A former employee of Playtex International, she had also served as a bus driver for the Coweta County School System and was Baptist by faith. Survivors include her husband, Bobby Denney; daughter and son in-law, Melissa and Bobby Laster, all of Grantville; son and daughter in-law, Kenny and Mary Shelton of Luthersville; her mother, Dura Mae Jones of Newnan; sister, Lorene Hammett of Sharpsburg; brothers, Ronald Barber and Michael Jones, both of Newnan; eight grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Bryan Shelton; father, John Kaiser Barber, Jr.; and sister, Angela Barber Freeman. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 18, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Donnie Shelton will officiate and interment will be in the Grantville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Saturday. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
