Mrs. Deborah Bowden, 74, of Luthersville, passed away Friday, March 21, 2025, at her home.
Mrs. Bowden was born November 1, 1950, in Jonesboro, daughter of the late John Rufus Coleman and Josephine Lucas Coleman. She was employed for many years as a paralegal, worked as a substitute school teacher, and in later years was employed as a receptionist at PAPP Clinic in Newnan and at Clark-Holder Clinic in LaGrange. She was a longtime member of Peachtree City Church of God and loved Jesus. She had enjoyed horseback riding, enjoyed maintaining her yard, and loved to shop and obtain nice things.
Survivors include her husband, Scott Bowden of Luthersville; daughter, Jessica Brooks of LaGrange; sons, Richard Brownlee and his wife Tammy, and Dustin Brownlee, all of Silex, MO; grandchildren, Ashley Jordan, Richard Brownlee III, Joshua Brownlee, Noah Brownlee, Mahayla Brownlee, J.D. Brooks, Jacey Brooks, Gabrielle Brownlee, Chloe Brownlee, Seth Brownlee; eleven great-grandchildren; sisters in-law, Kathy Coleman, and Joan Henry and her husband Manley Henry; brother in-law, Chris Bowden; and a number of nieces and nephews, including, Steven Reynolds, Mark Bowden, Bonnie Jo Barclay, Graham Coleman, and Craig Coleman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Judge Michael Coleman.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, March 23, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Richard Brownlee will officiate and interment will be in the Luthersville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m., Sunday, prior to the service.
