Mrs. Debbie Hanners Martin, 67, of Hogansville, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Governors Glenn Assisted Living in Forest Park. Mrs. Martin was born January 28, 1955, in Hogansville, daughter of the late Earl James Hanners and Doris Edwards Hanners. A registered nurse, she earned an Associate degree in nursing and a Bachelors degree in psychology from LaGrange College and served as a public health nurse for thirty years prior to her retirement. She was a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Hogansville. Survivors include her husband, David Martin of Hogansville; daughter, Jessica and Josh Smith of McMinnville, TN; granddaughters, Isabella and Kyndall Hope; brothers, Mike and Edna Hanners of LaGrange and Ricky Hanners of Rock Hill, SC; sister, Marie Johnson of Beaufort, SC; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert (R.O.) Hanners and Earl James Hanners, Jr.; and her sister, Melissa Smith. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 30, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Harrison Cain will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Monday night.
