David Glenn Scott

Mr. David Glenn Scott, 76, of Newnan, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

Born February 25, 1947, in Newnan, Mr. Scott was the son of the late Eleanor Smith Scott Modrack and William Summerville Scott, and was raised by his step-father, Cyril Modrack. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, lived in Coweta County most of his life, was Baptist by faith, and was an owner-operator truck driver. He enjoyed traveling to Biloxi and loved giving to others and helping people.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Louise Scott of Newnan; children, Felicia Steves of Moreland, Melinda Wrighter of Newnan, Billy Joe Hughes of Thomaston; eleven grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; and brothers, William Summerville Scott, Jr of Newnan and Bruce Modrack of Arizona.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 12, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with military honors. The Reverend Randall Hodge will officiate.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Sunday.
