David Timothy Karvelas

David Timothy Karvelas, age 19, of Hogansville, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2026.

Born December 7, 2006, David was a graduate of LaFayette Christian School in LaGrange and was a second-year student at Truett McConnell University in Cleveland.

David had a calm and gentle presence that made people feel at ease. He had a genuine interest in others and always took the time to really get to know them.

David had a deep desire to know the ways of the Lord and a heart that genuinely sought Him. His name means “beloved of God,” and he was truly beloved by God and all who knew him.

He had a love for music that brought him so much joy. David was the greatest sibling anyone could ask for and a wonderful son who brought immeasurable love and joy to our family. We will forever cherish who he was and the beautiful impact he had on all of us.

David is survived by his parents, Callie and Jimmy Karvelas; his brothers and sister, Nathan Karvelas, Jacob Karvelas, John Paul Karvelas, Gabriella Karvelas, Mitchell Karvelas; his grandparents, Barry and Sherie Morgan and Linda Hoyle, all of Hogansville. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, James “Jim” Karvelas, and was also greatly loved by his aunts and uncles.

Friends are invited to attend a gathering to celebrate David’s life on Tuesday, September 29, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at The Virginia Hand Callaway Discovery Center at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain.
