MR. DAVID R. CLOPTON
Mr. David Roscoe Clopton, 83, of Ranburne, Alabama, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015, at Atlanta Medical Center from injuries sustained in an automobile collision.
Mr. Clopton was born May 25, 1931, in Marmaduke, Arkansas, son of the late Roscoe Conklin Clopton and Olivia Mary Carpenter Clopton. An Army veteran of the Korean War, he lived in Texas most of his life and was a retired pharmacist. He practiced pharmacy in Texas for 50 years. Mr. Clopton was a former member of Brown Street Church of Christ in Waxahachie, TX and Bardwell (TX) Church of Christ and was a member of Pine Hill Church of Christ in Randolph County, Alabama since moving to Ranburne.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine Thornton Clopton of Ranburne; sons, David Clopton of Brock, TX, James Clopton of Lufkin, TX; daughter, Dawn Rene′ Woodyatt of Waxahachie, TX; step-daughter, Barbara Greenfield of Tomball, TX; step-sons, Mike Thornton of Haltom City, TX, John Thornton of Arlington, TX; and six grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Jimmie Marie Clopton.
The family is planning a memorial service which will be held at Brown Street Church of Christ in Waxahachie, TX at 10:30 a.m. on May 23, 2015.
