David Scott Allen

November 1, 1957 — June 6, 2025

Mr. David Scott Allen, 67, of Franklin, passed away Friday, June 6, 2025, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center.

Born November 1, 1957, in Hartford, Connecticut, Mr. Allen was raised in LaGrange and spent most of his life in Columbus before making his home in Heard County six years ago. He retired as an automotive and diesel mechanic, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cooking.

Survivors include his sons and daughters in-law, Scott and Chandra Allen of LaGrange, Timothy and Amanda Allen and Chris and Jessica Allen, all of Franklin, Matthew and Krystal Allen of Columbus, and James Allen, of Salinas, CA; brothers, Tommy Allen of Franklin, Steve Allen (Julie) of Standing Rock, AL, and Tim Gay of Roanoke, AL; sisters, Christy Vanhoose (Greg) of LaGrange and Carol Rushing of Pennsylvania; fourteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alberta "Gerry" Wuerth Gay; his father, Jack Allen; step-father, Lem Gay; brothers, Jamie Allen and Mike Gay.

A memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Monday, June 9, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with the Reverend Randall Hodge officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Monday, prior to the service.
