Darrell Ray Pike, 64, of Hogansville, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Hospice LaGrange.
Mr. Pike was born July 5, 1960, in Hogansville, son of the late Jimmy Ray Pike and Martha Whisenhunt Pike. He proudly served in the U.S. Army, 101st Airborne Division, from 1979 until 1986, lived in Hogansville most of his life, and was a self-employed carpenter. He was an expert horseman and loved riding and working with horses. Darrell was Baptist by faith, was an avid Atlanta Braves fan, and loved being "Pop-Pop" to his grandchildren.
Survivors include daughter, Ericka D. Pitman (Blake) of West Point; bonus daughter, Sidney Smith; bonus son, Casey McWhorter, both of Hogansville; grandchildren, Madalyn Pitman, Rylan Pitman, Lily Pitman, Kadice Moffett, Aryssa Moffett, McKenzie Moffett, all of West Point; brother, Anthony Greg Pike; adopted brothers and sisters, Chris "MC" McWhorter, Michael Rainey, Doug Montfort, Lisa Gail Smith, Mariea Campbell; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 23, at Welcome All Baptist Church in Hogansville. The Reverend Randall Dunlap, the Reverend Jonathan Pike, and Chris "MC" McWhorter will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday night, and at the church from 1:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, prior to the service.
