Darleen Cook O'Neal

November 15, 1928 — June 29, 2022

Mrs. Darleen Cook O'Neal, of Newnan, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at her home. Mrs. O'Neal was born November 15, 1928, in Sandy Springs, GA daughter of the late Clifford Elliott Cook and Ethel Garrison Cook. Following her marriage to Sidney Awbrey O'Neal, she lived in Atlanta, Macon, and Little Rock, AR during her husband's career with 3M Corporation. Family was the most important part of her life and Mrs. O'Neal also served many years as a payroll accountant. She had made her home in Newnan and Hogansville after returning to Georgia and was a member of Emmaus Primitive Baptist Church in Hogansville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney A. O'Neal and is survived by her sons, Tony and Dot O'Neal of Woodstock, GA, Phillip and Vicki O'Neal of Boise, ID Gary and Sabrina O'Neal of Suffolk, VA, Dan and Sue O'Neal of St. Louis, MO; brother, Ron and Margie Cook of Dunwoody, GA; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, GA from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Saturday, July 9, followed by a funeral service at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Elder Marty Smith will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville. Condolences may be expressed at www.mckibbenfuneralhome.com Claude A.
