Danny Bankston

Mr. Danny James "DJ" Bankston, 56, of Hogansville, passed away Friday, February 9, 2018, at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Newnan. Mr. Bankston was born June 16, 1961, in Walker County, Alabama, where he lived until making his home in Hogansville in 2010. He was employed as assistant manager of quality control at Kia Motors Manufacturing of Georgia. A member of Faith Baptist Church in LaGrange, he was an ordained minister and a longtime member and former youth pastor of Union Grove Baptist Church in Cordova, AL. Mr. Bankston was an avid Auburn football fan, but caring for his family was the most important part of his life. Survivors include his wife, Tracy Bankston of Hogansville; daughters and sons in-law, Heather and Matt Jones of Jasper, AL, Lynsey Bankston and Nick Costin of Cordova, AL, Savannah and Jake Davidson of Valley, AL, Candace Bankston of Hogansville; grandchildren, Bankston Jones, Chloe Jones, Kennedy Jones, Cranston Davidson; his parents, Vernon and Annette Bankston of Cordova; sister and brother in-law, Vicky and Wiley Hagood of Parrish, AL, and their sons, Wade Hagood and Brandon Hagood. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, February 11, at Faith Baptist Church in LaGrange, with Dr. Donald Yancey officiating. A second funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 14, at Union Grove Baptist Church in Cordova, AL, with the Reverend Johnny Franklin officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Faith Baptist Church in LaGrange from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Sunday and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Collins-Burke Funeral Home in Jasper, AL.
