Mr. Curtis E. Prophitt, 51, of Hogansville, passed away, Saturday, September 28, 2019, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Prophitt was born November 7, 1967, in Ft. Dix, New Jersey, son of the late Willie Joe and Dolores Martinez Prophitt. He served eleven years on active duty in the U. S. Navy, retired from the Naval Reserves, and was employed by Hyundai-Glovis. A resident of Hogansville most of his life, he loved fishing but most enjoyed work and caring for his family.
Survivors include his wife, Kristie Prophitt of Hogansville; daughter and son in-law, Jessica and Aubrey Henderson of LaGrange; son, C.J. Prophitt of Hogansville; grandson, Easton Henderson of LaGrange; sisters, Susan and Theron Vetter of LaGrange, Rose and David Persky of Dunwoody, Evelyn and Jesus Zarate of Veracruz, Mexico, Barbara Ormond of LaCrosse, WI; brothers, Samuel Prophitt of Lithonia, Steven Hoffman of Philadelphia, PA.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 4, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Jeremy Royster will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery with military honors.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Thursday night.
