Mrs. Cookie Whisenhunt Helton, 86, of Hogansville, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2022.
Mrs. Helton was born November 7, 1935, in Carroll County, daughter of the late Henry and Eunice Latimer Whisenhunt. A member of First Baptist Church of Grantville, she retired as a seamstress from RAM Manufacturing in Hogansville and later worked at Playtex International. She had been active in the Grantville Senior Center, loved to read, and enjoyed sewing, quilting, and crocheting.
Survivors include her daughter, Cindy Wright of Hogansville; sons and daughter in-law, Hal and Kay Helton of Grantville, Lee Helton of Hogansville; grandchildren, Nickie Crawford (Josh), Bubba Barrett, Chasitie Helton, Wendi Zell (Ben), Britany Helton (Jonathan Compton), Hunter Helton (Ivy); great-grandchildren, Courtney, Ryder, Jennings, Layton, Caleb, Jacob, Jaeden, MaKayla, Brayden, MaHalie, Ellie, Arthur; sisters in-law, Johanna Whisenhunt, Sheila Whisenhunt; and brother in-law, J. W. Roberts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Helton; son in-law, Tony Wright, six sisters; and two brothers.
A memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, April 3, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with the Reverend Bruce Brown and the Reverend Ronnie Attaway officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 until 4 Sunday afternoon.
