Mr. Clifford "Sonny" Granger, 90, of Hogansville, passed away Monday, August 8, 2022, at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.
Born September 12, 1931, in Hogansville, Mr. Granger was the son of the late B. C. Granger and Maude Cavender Granger. He served in the South Pacific in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War, lived in the Atlanta area for many years, and retired as an administrator for the Georgia Department of Labor. He returned to Hogansville in 2001, was a member of St. James United Methodist Church, and was an avid golfer.
Survivors include his sons, Clifford "Cliff" Granger, Jr. and his wife Claudia, Jeffery "Jeff" Granger and his wife Anet, all of Marietta; grandchildren, Ashley Lewis and her husband Daniel, and Tyler Granger; great-grandchildren, Lily Lewis, Levi Lewis, Kaia Lewis; and his sister in-law, Judith Bench Granger of Kenneth, MO. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gayle Craft Granger; and his brother, Luther "Shine" Granger.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 13, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Terry Rainwater will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Saturday.
