Clayton "Clay" Forrest Baker

Clayton (Clay) Forrest Baker of Jonesboro, Georgia, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, at the age of 42 from Wernicke's encephalopathy and Korsakoff syndrome. He is survived by his mother Becky, sister Kelley, brother Matt, and son Joshua Rylan, 10.

Clay was a brilliant mind, sharp wit, loyal friend, and loving father, but his demons damaged his mind past the point of no return. This obituary probably follows no protocol, but as I believe that no mother should ever have to write one for her first born son, I'm writing what I want. Clay was funny, loving, so bright- his son Josh has his affinity for math- but his mind was never quiet, and alcohol helped with that, which then led to his death. We shall miss him deeply, and if you knew Clay, I hope you will remember him with love and kindness. It is the family's choice not to have a public memorial.
