MRS. KATHERINE BARBER Mrs. Clara Katherine Barber, 80, of Luthersville, died Sunday, April 8, 2012, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 11, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Robert Cason and the Reverend Clarence Denny will officiate and interment will be in the Luthersville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 8 Tuesday night. Mrs. Barber was born June 2, 1931, in Luthersville, daughter of the late I. R. and Oretha Fomby Brown. She lived in Luthersville most of her life, was a member of White Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, and was retired from Southern Mills in Newnan. Survivors include her husband, Lindsey Barber of Luthersville; daughters and son in-law, Ann Lord of Senoia, Teresa and Steve Rich of Franklin; son, Jerry Lindsey Barber and his wife, Margaret of Fairburn; sisters, Helen Attaway of Grantville and Elizabeth Bryant of Albany; brother, Roy Brown of Grantville; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Jeff Barber; and her brother, Ed Brown. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
