Claire Priester Hight

Mrs. Claire Priester Hight, 83, of Grantville, passed away Friday, December 8, 2017, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. Mrs. Hight was born November 14, 1934, in LaGrange, daughter of the late Edward and Martha Jenkins Priester. She spent her childhood years in Grantville and was a retired nurse. She returned to Grantville in 1990, was active in the organization of the Grantville Library, had served as a volunteer for the Grantville Historical Society, and was a member of Grantville First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her daughters, Peggy Hight and Sean Imossi of Lantana, FL, Betsi Holbrook and her husband Skip Holbrook of Grantville, Kim Stout and her husband Daniel Stout of Odessa, FL; son in-law, Mark Hamlin; and grandchildren, Trevor Holbrook, Nicole Holbrook, Libby Oliver, Zoe Stout. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Knute Hight; daughter, Ellen Hamlin; and sister, Karen Saxon. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 12, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Ron Capes will officiate and interment will be in the Grantville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Monday night. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
