CHUCK CATO
Mr. Chuck Cato, 50, of Hogansville, died Tuesday, January 11, 2011, at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 15, at the First United Methodist Church of Hogansville, with the Rev. Stan Ayer, the Rev. Richard Campbell and the Rev. Jody Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 9 Friday night.
Mr. Cato was born April 22, 1960, in Newnan, and lived in the Hogansville area all of his life. He was employed by the Meriwether County Sheriff's Department for ten years and had operated Cato's Contracting Co., Inc. for many years. He was a member of Union Baptist Church in St. Marks and attended First United Methodist Church of Hogansville, where he started an AA group and taught Sunday School. He served on the Board of Directors of the Salvation Army in LaGrange and was a member of the U. S. Team Roping Association and the Lake West Point Coon Hunters Association.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Parker Cato; son, William Hilton Cato, both of Hogansville; his parents, Jeanette and Frank Cato of Lone Oak; sister and brother in-law, Jan and Randall Webb of LaGrange; nieces, Courtney Webb and Maegan Webb; and his mother in-law, Joyce A. Parker of Hogansville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church of Hogansville or to Salvation Army in LaGrange.
Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
