Mrs. Christine Nichols, 84, of Hogansville, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at her home.
Mrs. Nichols was born April 8, 1940, in Coweta County, daughter of the late John William Carroll and Mamie Swanger Carroll. She retired as a bookkeeper from the Elm City Division of Milliken and Company in LaGrange, was Baptist by faith, and had attended Oak Lawn Baptist Church in Newnan. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crafting, flower arranging, was a very talented musician, and had been a member of Merrymakers Bluegrass Band. She could play a number of instruments, including guitar and mandolin, but was especially known for her ability to play the banjo.
Survivors include her son, Jimmy and Karen Head of Hogansville; daughters, Vicki and Marty Yeager of Burr Oak, KS, Tracey and Jimmy Denham of Hogansville; 9 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Jo Sparks of Moreland, Alice Arrington of Sharpsburg, and Linda Noojin of Sargent. She was preceded in death by her husbands, George Nichols and Roy Dickey; sons, John David Head and Michael Leon Head; and daughter, Teresa Lynn Luckie.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 20, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend David Arrington and the Reverend Greg Nichols
will officiate and interment will be in Southview Cemetery in Moreland.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 19.
