MR. CHARLES H. WINGATE Mr. Charles H. Wingate, 65, of Franklin, died Friday, February 7, 2014, at his home. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 11, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Interment with military honors will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday. Mr. Wingate was born October 12, 1948, in Hogansville, son of the late Herman and Helen Johnson Wingate. A 1968 graduate of Hogansville High School, he retired as a Technical Sergeant from the U. S. Air Force after twenty years of service, and had made his home in Heard County since 2010. Survivors include his longtime companion, Trina Garrett of Franklin; daughter, Julie Valentine of Nashville, TN; sons, Everett Wingate and Charles Wingate, Jr., both of Franklin; brothers, Jackie Wingate of Palm Cove, FL, Warren Wingate of Hogansville; grandchildren, Megan Rose Wingate and Jackson Dean Wingate; and his beloved dog, Buddy. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation: from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 11th, at Claude A.
