Mr. Charles E. Tarwater, 74, of LaGrange, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at his home.
Mr. Tarwater was born June 9, 1944, in Opelika, Alabama, son of the late Will Tarwater, Jr. and Sara Berry Tarwater. A resident of LaGrange most of his life, he was a member and deacon of Dunson Baptist Church and retired from Fluor-Daniel Construction Company after 38 years of service. Mr. Tarwater enjoyed being outdoors and loved to fish.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Frances Tarwater of LaGrange; daughter, Cathy Hand of LaGrange; son, Charles Tarwater, Jr. of Savannah; 7 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Folds.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 15, at Dunson Baptist Church. The Reverend Kenneth Cole and the Reverend Aaron McCollough will officiate and interment will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Friday night and at other times will be at the home of Cathy Hand at 213 N. Barnard Ave.
