Mr. Charles James "Charlie" Raines, 55 of Luthersville, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at his home. Born March 11, 1966 in Du Quoin, Illinois, Mr. Raines was the son of the late Charles Arnold Raines and Katherine Wilson. He had lived in Meriwether County since 2004 and attended Rehoboth Baptist Church. Mr. Raines was a great storyteller, loved karaoke, and was Dale Earnhardt's biggest fan. Survivors include his wife, Deborah of Luthersville; daughter, Lea of New Mexico; son, Charles, Jr. of West Frankfort, IL; step-son and daughter in-law, Brandon and Kayla of Luthersville; step-brothers, Gary, Jerry and Michael; 11 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. In addition to his parents, Mr. Raines was preceded in death by a son, Jesse James Raines. The funeral service will be conducted at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, August 15, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Hosmer officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 until 5 before the service. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
